How do i know if my computer power supply can handle my new video card?
Here are some Tips :
Component Wattage Required
Motherboard 15-30
Low-End CPU 20-50
Mid To High-End CPU 40-100
RAM  7 per 128MB
PCI Add-In Card 5
Low To Mid-Range Graphics 20-60
High-End Graphics 60-100
IDE Hard Drive 10-30
Optical Drives 10-25

Add up what you have in your Computer, and add about 100-150 watts for upgrades and you should be fine. Note: Many of the old Computers only had 250 watt power supply some more or less. Read the label on you existing power supply to see what watage it has. Also if the power supplu is a couple of years old or more it could have a lot or dust and on it's last legg, Power supply's are not that expensive to buy, and are easy to install.
The more Watts your Power Supply has the better your computer can perform up to a point. Other consideration may be required OS, Memory on Board, CPU, Monitor.
If your Existing Computer is prior to year 2000 then you should think of getting a new Computer.
rather then just installing a new Video Card.

Sometimes your Computer will start with a
Blue screen.. Just try and restart again by
turning the Power off and Restart. You may have to do this a couple of times.
Most Manufactures install a Power Supply with the Minimum Wattage required to support the existing equipment onboard the as built Computer.. Adding a new Video or Audio or other equipment to your " as built " may cause your Computer to crash more often. A higher Wattage power supply may be required. Note: Some Manufactures do not use standard off the shelve Power Supplies.. Be careful and ask your supplier before installing.
